The surroundings of Deiva Marina:
Located in Northern Italy, on the Eastern Ligurian Riviera, Deiva Marina is the first town in the province of La Spezia when coming from Genoa.
As in the rest of the territory in the Portofino and Cinque Terre area, our town is characterized
by relatively high mountains falling into the sea and separating one town from the other.
Deiva Marina lies at the foot of a deep and green valley, on a flat area that stretches out 4 km inland.

If you want to take it easy:
Deiva Marina lies on a flat surface so you can easily cycle westwards along the coast and reach the galleries to Moneglia.
From that point you are not allowed to continue by bike, since cycling is forbidden due to security reasons.
Eastwards along the coast you can reach Spiaggetta, a perfect spot for swimming in the sea.
From there you can continue by walking on the seashore because the rest of the area is a campsite.
Travelling to the north you can cycle along a 4 km flat route that runs through a green landscape to the Val Deiva campsite.
You can also take one of the trains offering a bike transport service to reach Framura, where there is the start of a level cycling path which runs to Levanto.
You can reach Riva Trigoso by train and than continue on by bike to Chiavari - this path is completely level.
Also the path from Santa Margherita to Portofino is completely flat.
After La Spezia and Sarzana you will exit the region of Liguria and enter the region of Tuscany starting with Versilia,
which is a plain until Carrara, Marina di Massa, Forte di Marmi, Marina di Pietrasanta, Lido di Camaiore and Viareggio.

For bike experts:
If you are an expert cycler and you love riding uphill, you can reach Framura Alta and then descend
to the cycle path to Bonassola and Levanto along one of the most beautiful paths in Liguria.
You can than cycle further to the Cinque Terre and reach La Spezia, visiting the villages of Monterosso,
Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore along a path made of ups and downs.
You should be a well trained biker to cycle along this path.
By mountain bike you can also ride towards the Roman road Via Aurelia after a 12 km uphill and than descend towards
Sestri Levante to the west or towards Val di Vara valley to the east and then continue on to La Spezia.
From Via Aurelia, cycling to the north through Mattanara and Velva, you will get to Varese Ligure, which is the valley of organic farming.
You may take your bike on many trains travelling along the coastline by paying an extra ticket.
In this way you can cycle back to the hotel from further places such as Chiavari,
Rapallo, Santa Margherita or reach Portofino, Camogli, Golfo Paradiso and Genoa.
